Novo Tempo

Novo Tempo (Portuguese for 'New Time') is a Portuguese Christian TV channel and Radio Station for Brazil. It is owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Novo Tempo features programming produced by Adventist churches, colleges, hospitals and institutions, covering religious, health, educational and family life topics. Novo Tempo is a 24-hour broadcaster on satellite and cable networks in Brazil and is available over-the-air in some communities. Novo Tempo is part of the Hope Channel network. It was founded as ADSAT in 1996, broadcasting by satellite from its facilities in Nova Friburgo. Programming was limited to a dubbed edition of It Is Written (Escrito Está) and ADSAT em Louvor. Over time, the channel's programming increased. In 2003, the channel became Novo Tempo. The channel was made available on Sky Brasil to its subscriber base of 1.7 million in 2007 and, in 2008, rebranded. In 2011, it took over Shop Tour's terrestrial transmitter network, led by TV Cachoeira, who automatically became its affiliate. Shop Tour continued on subscription television providers.
